Chemical cleaning of plate exchangers of the desalination unit of Gachsaran Oil and Gas Exploitation Company
After a period of operation, the plate exchangers of the desalination unit of Gachsaran Oil and Gas Exploitation Company had formed deposits of a mixture of minerals (caused by seawater and water with crude oil), hydrocarbon deposits, and sticky sludge. The traditional cleaning method in the past — including transporting the exchangers to Mashhad, physically opening the plates, and jet washing — was time-consuming, costly, and had low efficiency.
Abrizan’s solution for cleaning the exchangers:
In July 1404, Abrizan Company, by implementing an advanced chemical cleaning plan, carried out desalination operations of four plate exchangers (oil-oil and water-water) on site without the need to move or open the equipment. This operation was carried out using a specialized Mitreh solution specifically for plate exchangers and using the internal circulation method. The formulation used was designed to simultaneously remove mineral and hydrocarbon deposits without damaging the sensitive metals of the exchanger.
Impressive results:
✅ Complete removal of deposits without opening the plates or moving the exchanger
✅ Significant increase in the heat transfer efficiency of the exchangers
✅ No corrosion (corrosion rate < 1 mpy)
✅ Savings in time, cost and manpower
✅ Complete satisfaction of the technical team of Gachsaran Oil and Gas Exploitation Company
This project is a clear example of the evolution in industrial maintenance methods that, using smart chemistry and local implementation, has solved traditional challenges and significantly improved operational efficiency.
