Flame photometry is used to determine the concentration of alkaline earth and alkali elements (in inorganic chemical analysis to determine the concentration of certain metal ions such as sodium, potassium, lithium and calcium) in aqueous solutions and is a simple and particularly cost-effective alternative to analyses such as plasma emission spectrometry or atomic absorption spectrometry.

 

Flame photometry applications

Flame photometers are mainly used in laboratories and process operations in the pharmaceutical, environmental, beverage, food, chemical and cement industries.

 

Pharmaceutical industry

Determination of the concentration of sodium and potassium ions in injection solutions, such as NaCl solution or others

Product control and indirect quality testing of various substances on sodium, potassium or lithium

Determination of the concentration in pharmaceutical reagents, in blood collection, final products are checked for the correct chemical composition using a flame photometry device.
