Antifoam unit of water desalination by thermal methods

Antifoam for Desalination Units
The high surface tension of seawater and the high probability of foam formation in MED and MSF systems are unpredictable. These foams usually form when organic compounds in salt water or brine increase. Usually these organic substances react with the salt in the sea and create alkaline and soapy compounds and the TDS is also very high, which results in foam production and enhances the surface active effects and increases the film strength.

The necessity of using antifoam in water desalination plants
One of the common problems that occurs in water desalination plants using thermal methods (MED and MSF) is the phenomenon of solute leakage (carry over) due to foaming. This event can reduce the quality of the steam and also cause serious damage to the system and, most importantly, the possibility of increased corrosion in the system, especially bubble corrosion. For these reasons, the necessity of using antifoam is obvious. To select the right antifoam for these systems, some points should be considered, including high antifoam strength, antifoam compatibility with the place of use and the ability to evenly disperse the antifoam throughout the entire system.
Mitreh Antifoam
The antifoam produced by Abrizan Company forms a microemulsion at the appropriate concentration used (0.1 to 1 mg / liter), and during evaporation, it settles in the surface liquid layer of the bubble and acts as a surfactant and reduces the strength of the film or layer. As a result, the formed layer is destroyed and stable foam is not formed. This results in a uniform boiling performance and minimizes carry over.
About Mitreh Antifoam
This antifoam is a highly effective liquid product with high antifoam power, antifoam compatibility with the application site and the ability to disperse the antifoam evenly throughout the system. It is used to control foam in all types of desalination systems (sea water distillation plants) and especially in multi-stage flash plants (MSF) processes.
Physical properties of Mitreh Antifoam
