Corrosion inhibitors are substances that, when added in small amounts to a corrosive environment, slow down the rate of corrosion. In fact, an inhibitor can be considered a retarding catalyst. There are many inhibitors available with different compositions.

Oxygen scavengers, oxygen scavengers, oxygen absorbers, anti-oxygen or (oxygen scavenger) are used to remove oxygen in various industries. The oxygen scavenger reacts with dissolved oxygen and prevents the reduction of oxygen to hydroxide ions, thus acting as a corrosion inhibitor.
